ACTIVITIES

Our karyakarta is inspired with a sense of social sensitivity, responsibility and national spirit.

The various activities of KYS in different fields are detailed below :

Educational :
·    Running Bal Sanskaar kendras in Kutch.
·    Primary School and Shishu Mandir in Bhuj operational.
·    Dialogue with Vivekananda Research Institute.
·    Conducted various competitions in Mumbai viz., Quiz Contests, Speech competitions, etc.
·    Organized a meet called "Baal Samrasta Sangam" of all Bal Sanskaar Kendras.
.    Organized various technical seminars on Rural Development & Smalll Scale Indutry Programmes.
.    A  3 days Camp was organised with Nuttan Baal Sikshan Sanstha Vadodra
.    Shrimati Kesharben Kanji Shamji Sarswati Vidyasankul at Bidada.
.    Kukma Sanskar Kendra in Kutch.

Cultural :
·    Conducted various cultural programmes to celebrate the Kutchi New Year. "Ashaadhi Beej" to      propagate the Cultural Heritage of Kutch.
·    Sponsored various Kutchi Dramas and musical programs like "Diaro" to promote and inculcate Kutchi      literature and language amongst the younger generation.
·    Organized a Viraat Kutchi Sammelan.
.    Kutch Fluitist Shri Shiv Kumar Punjani was feliciated on his 75th Birthday
.    Dandiyrass programme on the eve of Sharad Poornima.
.    From last 2 years Kutchi Drammas are performed in the Villages of Kutch.
.    Annual function of Bidada School.

Social :
·    Celebration of Pandit Shyamji Krishna Verma's birth anniversary every year in Kutch.
·    Organized the release of a postage stamp of Pandit Shyamji Krishna Verma.
·    Organized the vasai satyagraha to release the cattle of Deonar slaughter house in Mumbai.
·    Every year distribution of milk to the devotees of Aashapura Mata going to Mata Na Madh during the      Navratri.
·    Organized several "Kutch Darshan" programs to familiarize the Mumbai Youth with the geography      and situation of Kutch.
·    Conducted lectures on "Public Awareness" in Mumbai & Vyasan Mukti Karyakram in Kutch.
.    Matyrs of Kargil War were mourned and Soldiers were praised for their deed in Kargil at Public      Function in Dadar.
.    Distribution of Foodgrains and Sweets to people economically backward.

Medical :
·    Organized many Blood Donation camps in Mumbai.
·    Organized many Medical camps in Kutch.
·    Running a Mobile Dispensary in Kutch (Presently discontinued).
·    Conducted workshops/ seminars on Yoga, Acu-Pressure, Swamutra.
·    Conducted many camps in Kutch & Mumbai for immunization of Hepatitis B. Already administered .    more than 1 lac vaccines in Kutch and in Mumbai.

Sports :
·    Organize sports meet every year in Mumbai.

Kutch Welfare :
·    Conducted many dharnas / andolans for Superfast train from Mumbai to Gandhidham.
·    Organized a Dharna at Azad Maidan on 5th April 1999 for a second superfast train from Mumbai to      Kutch.
·    Organized dialogues / debates for the welfare of Kutch with Government representatives from time to      time.
·    Organized various andolans for Narmada waters to reach Kutch.
·    Conducted a "Cycle Rally" from Narayan Sarovar to Sardar Sarovar covering 1100 kms.
·    Organized rallies for collection of funds /material for the drought affected people of Kutch.
·    Collected a corpus of Rs.5.5 lacs for Panjrapoles.
·    Under the "Koti Vriksha Abhiyaan" scheme distributed seeds to farmers.
·    Under the "Well Recharging" scheme, undertook and completed recharging of 200 wells in 49 villages      of Kutch.

Kandla Cyclone :
·    Instrumental in formation of a common platform of all Kutchi Organization named "Akhil Kutch Sanket      Rahat Samiti" popularly known "Abhiyaan" in Kutch.
·    Surveyed 30 damaged Panjrapoles in Kutch and arranged to donate Rs.30,07,000/- to 23 of them with      the help of Mumbai Gauraksha Mandali.
·    Distributed clothes, food, etc. to the cyclone affected people.
·    Donated Rs.11,30,000/- to 435 affected farmers as relief measure.
·    Undertook and completed Rehabilitation of 165 houses in 14 villages of bhachaau taluka.

Kutch Earthquake :
KYS has geared up and is now fighting on a war footing the aftermath of the massive EARTHQUAKE that hit KUTCH on 26/1/2001 which has killed thousands and rendered lakhs of people homeless. Our dedicated karyakartas, despite themselves being victims of the earthquake have taken charge and are fighting the devastation caused by the earthquake in a phased manner, viz.,

Phase 1 - Relief :
·    Sent teams of doctors & karyakartas for rescue operations.
·    Established relief camps in Bhuj, Bhachua, Mundra talukas and are reaching the villages providing      medicines, food, clothes, blankets, etc. to the affected.
·    Information centres were opened in Mumbai at the airports, railway stations guiding patients, relatives      to various hospitals.

Phase 2 - Transit camps :
·    Surveyed the affected villages to assess the degree of damage. Our survey reveals that about 260      villages have been completely wiped out from the face of the earth while 200 villages are partially      damaged.
·    Built tents, setup kitchens for the survivors apart from providing non-stop relief. · Starting of transit      schools.

Phase 3 - Rehabilitation :
